Is it normal for the intake sprocket to have that much play ?
Is it hard to keep in lane? I’m drunk all day let my Jeep tell it, I named it Swervy Irv
Great video, thank you.
How the heck do these things stretch. I mean it's a quadra?Plex chain and it's only turning a camshaft.
Get a 15$ pcv off eBay break the old one off boom problem fixed check manifold to see if any oil made it into there and your disavalves function and haven’t absorbed oil into its shaft
after replacing the chain i have cam position sensor out of range fault code 3008 is that something youve come accross with these engines? seems to be running ok, but vcds shows 3008
Are the injectors mushroomed so the copper seals do not fall off during install?
When I worked at LR there was a rework on the restricted drain, to fix white smoke on cars that turbos were not faulty but restriction in drain cause oil pressure to seep accross seals.
Is throttle body fault anyway connected to the flywheel starts rattling when motor shuts down?before problems with throttle flywheel were not making any sounds?
Also, i have to say that these chains don't stretch because of lack of maintenance but because of faulty design. My chain was replaced under warranty on the very first oil change. Now after 65000km and even with annual oil changes, the famous "death rattle" appeared. Right on when i was expecting it, based on the feedback of many owners. It's like VW designed them to fail. They think i'm going to just give them almost 1000 euros to replaced it. Joke's on them. Thanks to your and other's istructions i'll do it myself. Looks simple enough.
The latest chain design for this engine, that replaces the faulty previous ones is labaled with a letter "G". If any of you is planning on doing this, make sure you get a complete kit (timing chain, cam sprocket, crack sprocket, oil pump sprocket, chain guides, bolts etc). Make sure it's the letter "G". If you don't get the "G" kit, you're just replacing the old crap with new crap and you will have the same issues. The "G" kit has a wider, beefier chain and wider sprockets as well.
It was very helpful for me, my engine only had one ring broken in cylinder 1, but after your video advice, i ve decide to change 4 piston KS, this cylinder 1 had a little black mark, but i decide not hone because the nail doesnt "stop" in this mark. Thanks for your video!!!
not having same issue but i thought it was the same, i got error code P2015 and it says something along the lines of "intake manifold runner position sensor/switch circuit range/performance bank 1a" im guessing now that it can be the intake manifold sensor next to the supercharger and i hope thats the problem because that is easier to fix than the other 3 sensors. Feel free to speculate with me about my problem, VW Golf 1.4 BMY 2008
Why were you measuring tdc from the right side? I thought the piston closest to the timing gears was piston 1 and was the one set to tdc for timing setup
So odd for an English person to be referencing distance in kilometers, had to check your location to figure that out. Nice one mate.
Hi...do you know the 5 wire pin out for the inlet air regulator flap. I strongly think my ecu is messed up
Did you have to take the supercharger cover off to access the supercharger belt tensioner pulley?
It seems strange that you didn’t replace the turbo oil return manifold which is prone to failure. It was right in front of you.
hi mate was there a ticking noise more noticeable when cold starting ? as i have the same mess/grime on the side of my cylinder and can sort of here the ticking noise through your video ?
Was that engine summited at high rpms? Or how did that happen?
Will we close the hole we made? If we close it, with what?
Long shot question/confirmation. I’ve diagnosed mine as faulty as well, but I’m kind of worried if I swap it for the new one. That I have to calibrate/code the new one. What’s the process of this?
So I’m currently battling a diagnosis on my 2.0FSI with no compression on 3 cylinders and with 150psi on #4. Timing belt looks good and tight and the cam/exhaust cam chain seems to be rotating both cams during cranking. Any suggestions on how to proceed?
Which ignition coils do you use and why? And spark plugs also :D Ive got Oil in the air intake are, its not much and every 3 months I fill it up a bit, do you can Suggest what It can be? I already checked the turbo but there was nothing leaking, It comes from something further, I also checked the crankcase ventilation and it was okay...
Hello where you buy it this tools? helpful video thanks !
Thats because someone put it on the wrong side of the Jeep😂
yeah all i had to do was replace the ccv on my motor no more codes for only 15$ test your ccv before doing this procedure
Very useful, same problem in my CAVD. Leak test show a problem in cylinder 1, it makes a little "mark" but i can see the factory marks of "BRUÑIDO" (HONE( Did you use the old rod bolts? Did you put a new "bearing inserts"?
Whats the long silver cylinder shape component by the upper firewall for?
Should the supercharger belt turn while the car is idle?
So I've just gone to inspect my egr valve on a 320d engine, n47 is it?. The plastic egr pipe was actually snapped at the bottom. I touched it lightly and the whole thing broke off! Started better afterwards without the exhaust gases. But the actuator underneath is going in and out repeatedly. So best sort properly at some point. Or do I just forget about and get on with my life? Probably...
Got this issue on my e91 320d too I think. Thanks for the help mate
Talk about perfect timing. I'm getting ready to do just what you have done. You seemed to be a lot like myself. If you're taking something off it's worth getting it back to 100% instead of just settling for doing what you went in to do. I'd love to when you use your finger to move the flap so we can see what it should look like on that part you put your screwdriver on. I've never seen anybody use their finger to demonstrate if you have done it right or not. I'm glad you mentioned not to use any sort of cleaner inside a throttle body. I buy that and brake cleaner by the box full. I enjoyed your video so you got a big old thumbs up. Since you had some very good advice I made sure and hit the subscribe button also.
Isn't it necessary to also change a main crankshaft wheel?
how much does this cost supplied and fitted??
Hi boss I have big misfire when I make first acceleration check engine blinking and I have a scanner show me random misfires cylinder one three and four and when I stop check engine go off and the car runs normal if you have solution for this thanks
Thanks very muchly..! I feel (reasonably) confident that I'll be able to complete this..! :)
Thank you sir!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Life saving video. I did have a quick question, isn’t there a concern of the carbon falling into the cylinder when cleaning out the injector channel?
Outstanding many thanks
Great help Thank you.
Looks like an N18 mini engine
Do you need to alternate between counter-torquing and torquing each screw three times, or do you torque each screw three times and then consider the task complete?
how long it can last before next rebuild?
Top man
Thanks for the video. I've got the same symptoms as this but with error code p10a0. My mechanic replaced the regulating flap but engine still won't rev over 3000rpm. They've tested the wiring etc and can't find an issue so believe there is a problem with the ECU. Has anyone else experienced this problem and/or have a solution? Thanks
Is this procedure the same for a 2016 volkswagen jetta 1.8 TSI? Everything looks familiar to my engine..and having a hard time finding a video for a 1.8
Salutare, am facut și eu același lucru, astăzi am demontat piesa noua și am puso pe cea veche, am curățat cu vd40. Am făcut un test este ca nouă voi vedea pe parcurs dacă mai apare eroarea!
Hi. I have a Seat ibiza 1.4 TSi 6j cupra, BocaNegrA version with 180hp. Original. I m doing the replacement of that throttle. But I also have to replace the other one behind . Exactly behind of that black plastic throttle, theres another metal throttle. So How can I differentiate the alignment from the plastic throttle to the metal throttle with VCDS and vagcom??
